Card Design: Scribbles Designs Challenge #31...Birthday Bonanza

Hello and happy hump day.  Today marks the start of our new challenge over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog.

This time around, for Challenge #31, the theme is Birthday Bonanza.
Time to break out the party hats and light up the candles on the birthday cake. Get ready to hang the streamers and blow up some balloons too. This challenge we are celebrating birthdays. Yours, mine, a family member's, a friends, or even an acquaintances. It doesn't matter who's birthday you are celebrating or how many candles are on the cake. Just show us a creation commemorating someone's birthday. Let the birthday bonanza begin!

In order to participate in our challenges you DO NOT NEED TO USE A SCRIBBLES DESIGNS IMAGE on your project but you must follow the monthly theme and the other rules that have been established for our particular challenge blog.  You can find them, along with the prize information, listed in the right hand sidebar of the challenge blog.  This challenge will end at 9pm PST on August 14th.

You can purchase your Scribbles Designs images HERE and there is a free image over on the challenge blog as well to help get you started.  Also, be sure to check out the special Freebie Friday posts as it is another great way to build your Scribbles Designs collection.

To help inspire you, I have created a fun digital birthday card that I will also make into a physical card as well.  This card features one of the Scribbles Designs beloved characters--Burt who is companion to Brrr.

Here are my card and all the details...

General Information:

  • This card was created 100% digitally and then layered in a poster mockup.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Burt:  Burt is fabulous and I love working with him.  Burt has been coloured digitally.
  • The background beach scene image is courtesy of Vector Art.  I duplicated the wave and added it in front of Burt to make it look like he is in behind the wave.
  Digital Embellishment Details:
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This great sentiment is from Imagine That! Digis by Kris.  It can be used in so many different kinds of situations.  You can find it in the Poolside Penguins set.  Click on the watermark below to find this set in the IT store.

INSIDE

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This great sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  I picked it up as a freebie not too long ago.  For more great freebies, click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and to purchase some wonderful sets, click HERE to go to the store.

OVERALL
Digital Embellishments:

  • The shapes used for matting in behind the image and sentiment are simple shapes created in Photoshop Elements.
  • The shadows to give each element some depth were created with a layer style, also from Sheila Reid.
Digital Paper Products:
  • The background sand texture used on the front and inside are from the Scribble Doodles Designs set I created called Sizzlin' Summer You can get it in the Textures only pack for $1.99 or as part of the complete set of both patterned and textured papers for just $3.99.  Click on the watermarks below to find either set in the Scribble Designs store.
